This excellent release pairs live recordings from 1970 featuring Johnny Winter, the guitarist famously billed as the "Million Dollar Guitarist."
It also features Rick Derringer, the renowned guitarist and frequent collaborator of the Winter brothers. Disc 1 is sourced from a rare soundboard recording, though it does contain some slight hiss.
Disc 2 features a high-quality audience recording as its main content—despite some minor distortion during peak moments—and includes a soundboard recording from the Montreux Festival of the same year as a bonus.
For both discs, track cuts and transitions between songs have been carefully handled, and the balance has been significantly improved through equalization adjustments.
You can fully enjoy magnificent, high-impact guitar playing from the artist's absolute prime, featuring phrases that flow effortlessly and dazzling slide work.
This is a must-listen, especially for guitarists.
