This recording captures the first night in Tokyo of Eric Clapton's second tour of Japan, held at the Budokan Hall on November 1st. Compared to his first visit in 1974, he appears much more stable—both mentally and physically—and one is struck by the sheer intensity and dedication with which he plays. By this time, Clapton's popularity in Japan had firmly taken root, and the energy in the venue is at a fever pitch. Overall, it is a high-energy, fast-paced concert. Regarding sound quality, it is an audience recording; while the microphone position seems somewhat distant, this actually enhances the sense of realism and delivers a powerful listening experience.
