This recording captures Eric Clapton's performance at Rainbow Hall in Nagoya, Japan, on October 25, 1995—his 12th tour of the country. Since there had been no Nagoya date on the '95 tour schedule, this marked his first concert in the city in four years. The audience was already highly charged before the show began; a roar of cheers greeted Eric the moment he appeared, and he responded with a spirited, impassioned performance. As this was during his acoustic-focused era, the show opens with an acoustic version of the masterpiece "Layla," and the entire set maintains a mellow, contemplative atmosphere. Regarding sound quality: it is an audience recording, but given the excellent acoustics of Rainbow Hall, the balance is superb. The audio is clear and immersive, remaining stable throughout. While the reverberation occasionally sounds a bit like distortion, it is not at a level that significantly detracts from the listening experience. Coming from the middle of the tour, the musicianship is excellent.
