This release captures the performance from Deep Purple's 1985 European tour, recorded on June 22 at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire, UK. After reuniting with the "Mark II" lineup for the first time in eight years and releasing the album *Perfect Strangers* in November 1984, the band launched a massive promotional tour; this recording documents a performance from the European leg of that tour, which took place following the Japan tour in early 1985. This performance took place after a month-long break following the Japan tour, finding the band in peak condition. Communication between the members was excellent, resulting in a highly cohesive performance; the band's superb form allowed for a truly outstanding show. The playing—particularly by Jon and Richie—was electrifying, capturing the raw energy of the band's early days and showcasing Deep Purple at their absolute best. As a bonus, the release includes seven tracks from the 1993 Paris concert, sourced from a soundboard (SBD) recording. The audio quality is consistently high, derived from a broadcast master source.
