The "Necromancer" series—which reissues rare titles from niche, handmade, collector-focused labels using official master recordings—now features "Headless Hawk," one of the premier labels for jazz collectors. These rare titles are being re-released at an accessible price point, complete with a special reissue emblem and a newly designed back cover.

This is a live recording of the Ahmad Jamal Quartet. As it originates from a radio broadcast, the sound quality is exceptional. The inclusion of the DJ’s announcements allows you to experience the atmosphere of listening to an American radio program; these segments—which include interviews and introductions of Ahmad Jamal—are meaningful and engaging. Although it is a quartet, there is no dedicated lead instrument; rather, it functions like a trio augmented by percussion, with Ahmad Jamal’s piano taking center stage. A must-listen for fans of piano jazz.
