A complete, high-quality audience recording of the first night of YES’s three-day Tokyo residency during their 2012 Japan tour, captured at Shibuya Public Hall on April 19, 2012. This recording captures the final Tokyo performance of the band’s first Japan tour in nine years, presented in superb sound quality derived from the label’s original high-quality masters, which have undergone 24-bit digital remastering.
The tour featured the *Drama*-era lineup—Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Alan White, and Geoff Downes—and the setlist offered a comprehensive overview of the band’s 40-plus-year history. It spanned everything from 1970s staples like "Starship Trooper" and "Roundabout" to the 1980s hit "Owner of a Lonely Heart," as well as the title suite from their latest album, *Fly From Here*. Of particular note is lead vocalist Jon Davison, who stepped in on short notice to replace Benoît David; his high-pitched vocals—reminiscent of a young Jon Anderson—and his stage presence are truly impressive, sure to satisfy even long-time fans.
The rotating track for this particular show was "Heart of the Sunrise," and Steve Howe’s second solo segment featured a performance of "Second Initial."
