12. Steel Wheels Tour Press Conference

This release features the complete concert held on August 12, 1989, at Toad’s Place—a nightclub in New Haven, Connecticut—which served as a warm-up show prior to the *Steel Wheels* tour.

For their first tour in seven years, the Stones conducted six weeks of rehearsals at the Wykeham Rise School, a girls' boarding school in Connecticut. This concert was performed as a gesture of gratitude for the school's hospitality. The Rolling Stones' appearance at Toad’s Place that day was kept strictly confidential; the event was billed under the guise of a staff member's birthday party. Of the entire massive two-year world tour, this intimate club show—performed before an audience of just 700 people—was the very first concert to feature a live crowd.

A bonus track featuring the tour announcement press conference held in New York on July 11, 1989, is also included.
