German metal heavyweights Rage, led by Peavy Wagner, toured Japan in support of their album *Seasons of the Black*! This release features a complete recording of their February 24, 2018, Osaka show, captured with top-tier, ultra-high sound quality that delivers undeniable power and an immersive live atmosphere. With an audience mix rivaling a soundboard recording, the sound explodes from start to finish with a massive, earth-shaking low-end assault.
The vocals and instruments are rendered with rich, realistic depth and perfect stereo imaging, flawlessly recreating the blissful live experience. The sense of unity between the band and the crowd, along with the palpable atmosphere of the venue, is simply irresistible. Naturally, the recording has undergone the meticulous mastering characteristic of the Sylph label, resulting in an excellent release that is guaranteed to get you fired up. As a bonus, a pro-shot DVD is included, featuring a full 62-minute live performance from Wacken, Germany (2017). It utilizes new technology for high-quality visuals and features mastered audio—a truly superb item that offers a fantastic viewing experience. This marks the first Osaka performance for the new lineup featuring guitarist Marcos Rodriguez and drummer Vassilios Maniatopoulos. From the new album, they performed "Justify," "Seasons of the Black," and "Blackened Karma." The setlist included "End of All Days" (which wasn't played in Tokyo) and numerous rare tracks from albums like *Black in Mind* and *End of All Days*—with the inclusion of "Deep in the Blackest Hole" being a particular treat for fans. Of course, they deliver powerhouse performances of signature tracks like "Solitary Man" and "Don't Fear the Winter"—it is a truly satisfying listen! Marcos shines with his backing vocals, but there is also a hilarious moment during the finale, "Higher Than the Sky," where he belts out "Heaven and Hell" and "Holy Diver" while doing an impression of Ronnie! Peavy is in top form as well; the trio’s energetic, powerful, and rock-solid performance is simply superb. This is the true spirit of German metal! Spanning an intense 1 hour and 40 minutes, this show is an absolute must-hear for fans. Brought to you by the Sylph label, this definitive release captures the Osaka concert experience with stunning cover art, a bonus DVD, and pristine sound quality—a memorial item that every fan needs to own!
