Nine Inch Nails—led by Trent Reznor, one of the most brilliant and charismatic figures in the rock scene—returned to Japan for the first time in about two years, bringing their latest material with them! This release features a complete recording of their highly acclaimed 2007 Japan tour, including the Tokyo show on May 20th (the third night of the run) and both Osaka shows on May 23rd and 24th. The audio quality is exceptional, capturing the full impact and immersive atmosphere of the performances!
The Osaka recordings, in particular, are top-tier live documents; with their rich, heavy low-end, they effectively "vacuum-pack" the entire venue, perfectly preserving the intensity and presence of the live experience! The Tokyo show recording is crystal clear and absolutely spot-on!! As an added bonus, the Tokyo release includes a pro-shot DVD (featuring 3 tracks) from Summer Sonic 2005, while the Osaka release comes with a DVD of the 2006 show at Jones Beach, NY—captured with excellent, well-zoomed camera work!!
The setlists and arrangements vary significantly between each show, making this tour a dream for die-hard fans!! The performances are truly stellar—just incredible!! There are so many highlights that it’s impossible to list them all, but the Tokyo show on the 20th is the only one on this tour to feature "The Wretched," "Even Deeper," "The Big Come Down," and "Star Fuckers, Inc."! At the Osaka show on the 23rd, Trent was in high spirits, even performing a rare cover—"Get Down Make Love"—which hasn't been played in a long time!! The band’s energy is off the charts!! Then, for the final night in Osaka on the 24th, the atmosphere reached a fever pitch, accompanied by a top-tier performance!! There’s even a special moment where Trent shares some jokes (with the help of an interpreter) and the crowd joins in to sing "Happy Birthday" to keyboardist Alessandro!! Between these three releases, you can hear almost every song performed throughout this entire tour!! In short, these are essential, must-have memorial items for any fan!!
