Nine Inch Nails—led by Trent Reznor, one of the rock scene’s greatest talents and most charismatic figures—returned to Japan for the first time in about two years, bringing their latest material with them! This release features complete recordings from their highly acclaimed 2007 Japan tour, including the Tokyo show on May 20 (the third night) and both Osaka shows on May 23 and 24. The audio quality is exceptional, capturing the full power and immersive atmosphere of the performances!
The Osaka recordings, in particular, are top-tier live documents; with their rich, heavy low-end, they effectively "vacuum-seal" the entire venue, preserving the full intensity and presence of the show. The Tokyo recording is also crystal clear and spot-on! As an added bonus, the Tokyo set includes a pro-shot DVD from Summer Sonic 2005 (3 tracks), while the Osaka set includes a DVD of the 2006 Jones Beach (New York) performance, featuring excellent, well-zoomed camera work! The content varies significantly between shows, with different setlists and arrangements—a real treat for die-hard fans! The performances are absolutely stellar—just mind-blowing! There are so many highlights that it’s impossible to list them all, but the Tokyo show on the 20th was the only one on this tour to feature "The Wretched," "Even Deeper," "The Big Come Down," and "Star Fuckers, Inc." At the Osaka show on the 23rd, Trent was in high spirits, treating the crowd to a rare cover—a song that hasn't been heard in ages—"Get Down Make Love." The band’s energy was off the charts! Then, for the final show in Osaka on the 24th, they delivered an incredible performance with the crowd at peak intensity. There were even some lighthearted moments, including jokes shared via an interpreter and a group sing-along for keyboardist Alessandro’s birthday! Between these three releases, you can hear almost every song performed throughout the entire tour. In short, these are essential, must-have memorial items for any fan!
