This release features a remastered recording—sourced from a high-quality audience master—of the final show of the "WE WANT MILES!" tour. This tribute group, led by Marcus Miller, reunited alumni of Miles Davis's bands to commemorate the centenary of his birth. The concert features a setlist comprised entirely of tracks from Miles's albums, and the spoken interludes between songs include reminiscences about the man himself.
While other releases from the "WE WANT MILES!" tour exist—including soundboard audio and pro-shot video—none have quite served as the definitive version; the pro-shot footage captured a shortened festival set, and the soundboard recordings were marred by DJ commentary at various points. In contrast, this release offers exceptional audio quality despite being an audience recording and captures the special atmosphere of the tour's final night. It is an absolute must-listen and stands as the most highly recommended recording of the "WE WANT MILES!" project.
