The "Necromancer" series—which reissues rare titles from handmade, collector-focused labels (originally distributed only within very limited circles) using official master recordings—now features "Headless Hawk," one of the premier collector labels in the jazz world. These rare titles are being reintroduced with new reissue emblems and redesigned back covers, all at an accessible price point.

This release captures a live soundboard performance by Marcus Miller, who has reigned as one of the jazz world’s leading bassists since being discovered by Miles Davis in the 1980s. Recorded at a festival in New Orleans, the sound quality is exceptional. The set showcases a dynamic range, moving from the funky, late-era Miles Davis classic "Tutu" to the timeless Duke Ellington jazz standard "In a Sentimental Mood." And yes—Marcus can play the saxophone, too!
