This recording captures a performance at the Ventura Concert Theatre in California during the US tour supporting *Let Me In*, Johnny Winter's acclaimed late-1991 album. As this was his first tour after switching to a new label, Winter is in high spirits, delivering some truly superb, bluesy guitar work. The setlist features four tracks from the then-new *Let Me In* album—"Illustrated Man," "Blue Mood," "Sugaree," and "Got To Find My Baby." The opening number, "Got To Find My Baby," delivers the kind of fantastic rock 'n' roll long-time fans love, while tracks like "Illustrated Man" showcase his fluid soloing; overall, it is a magnificent recording. He also performs a stellar slide guitar solo on the live staple "Mojo Boogie." Although this is an audience recording, the balance is so excellent that one might momentarily mistake it for a soundboard source; free from intrusive crowd noise, it allows you to clearly enjoy Johnny Winter's performance from just before his hiatus in 1991.
