This release captures the live performance from November 27, 1981, at the Niigata Prefectural Civic Center—the opening night of the Japan tour supporting the *Another Ticket* album (his fifth tour of the country). Since the 1981 tour did not include a stop in Hokkaido, this was the only show held in the northern region, as well as being the tour opener. Perhaps due to it being the first night, there is a palpable sense of tension; however, the audience's energy is incredibly high, with massive cheers and heckling flying about throughout the performance. While the band's playing improves as the show progresses, the recording vividly conveys the feeling of the performers being somewhat overwhelmed by the crowd right to the end. It makes for a fascinating listen—not just for Eric's guitar work, but for the unique atmosphere of the concert itself. Regarding sound quality, this is an audience recording; while there is some minor background noise, the overall balance is excellent. It offers a rich sense of presence, allowing you to fully enjoy Eric's guitar solos and the lively interaction from the crowd.
