Our label has released several titles sourced from these newly digitized Millard tapes; you may have noticed that they are categorized into two series: \"Brushed Mike Millard Tapes\" and \"Legendary Mike Millard Tapes.\" Not every Mike Millard recording is perfect in terms of sound quality; some require significant restoration and improvement—these fall under the \"Brushed\" series. Conversely, recordings that are already near-perfect—requiring little to no enhancement beyond minimal editing, such as adjustments between tracks—are designated as part of the \"Legendary\" series.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis release, from our \"Brushed\" series, features a live performance by Lenny White’s group. Lenny White is well-known as the drummer for Chick Corea’s Return to Forever; he later formed a group called The Jamaica Boys, in which he—much like in this live performance—teamed up with Marcus Miller. This concert features a dual-guitar setup and prominent use of synthesizers, resulting in a stellar performance of high-quality jazz-rock. Because the original recording contained significant hiss, noise-reduction processing was applied—which is why this release is part of the \"Brushed\" series. The sound quality is excellent, offering a high-caliber audience recording of the kind one expects from a \"Millard tape.\" The late set, featured on Disc 2, runs for over 82 minutes; as it could not fit onto a single disc, some extended segments—such as spoken interludes between tracks—have been edited out.
