The band members are in high spirits; the performance showcases powerful, driving playing—highlighted by the transition from original drummer Bill Ward to the popular Vinny Appice. Ronnie James Dio is also at his absolute peak following his departure from Rainbow, delivering a barrage of magnificent vocal shouts. As a bonus, the set includes eight \"best take\" tracks from the Japan tour that took place just prior to this.
